“The perpetrators are dependent on their victims’ experiences, if they wish to know themselves, for the memory of suffering does not end, whereas our remembrance of what we have done ourselves is short-lived. The victims’ recollections of suffering are stronger than the perpetrator’s recollections of what they did, because the remembrance of sufferings outlasts time, and is not subject to oblivion. So truth is in the hands of the victims, and it is from them that deliverance from delusion to reality comes.”
